79-year-old US citizen injured in immigration raid files $50M claim

A 79-year-old man in Southern California has filed a $50 million claim against the federal government, alleging civil rights violations during an immigration raid.

Video surveillance footage from inside the car wash shows a federal officer running in through a hallway. Several other U.S. citizens have also filed civil rights claims against the government for being wrongly detained during federal immigrant enforcement operations in Southern California. While DHS has usually defended its tactics, the agency issued a rare rebuke of one of its officers Friday after he shoved an Ecuadorian woman to the floor at a courthouse in New York.
