A new kind of aircraft departs an MIT classroom and arrives at an Ohio factory
Electra’s hybrid, fixed-wing aircraft, which began as an MIT class project, has minimal runway needs and is much quieter than traditional planes. The company has announced an $850 million investment to manufacture its nine-passenger aircraft at a facility in Ohio.
