Documenting the tech worker movement | Writing as a participant and researcher, PhD student JS Tan SM ’22 has co-authored a new book about the rise of tech worker protests and the employer backlash that followed.


MIT PhD student JS Tan co-wrote with Clarissa Redwine the book "Against Tech Oligarchy," on the rise and fall of the tech worker labor movement of the past decade. The book chronicles how tech workers organized themselves, effective strategies they used, and effects the movement and tech development had on Silicon Valley labor politics.
