Drought drives up Dutch energy bills as power companies get less access to cooling water
Energy prices in the Netherlands are increasing due to power plants in Eastern Europe having less access to cooling water. The Netherlands currently buys electricity for between €150 and €200 per megawatt-hour. Last month, the price was still around €80, NOS reports. Particularly people with dynamic energy contracts, with energy prices that fluctuate with the market, are noticing the increases.
