Google app for Windows tells users to uninstall and redownload for ‘future updates’

Google is telling users of its new Windows app to uninstall it and redownload a new version for future updates.

The Google app for Windows is currently in Labs status, with updates to come in time. But, seemingly due to some kind of error in the initial release, Google is recommending that users uninstall the app and reinstall it in order to “ensure continued delivery of all future updates.” There’s no explanation provided for why this might be needed, but it certainly sounds like there might just be a problem in the existing release.
