Linux 7.1 Helping Intel Arc Battlemage Graphics Achieve Better Performance

Recent testing of the Intel Arc B580 Battlemage desktop graphics card has shown that the upcoming Linux 7.1 kernel release is delivering superior graphics performance over the current stable Linux 7.0 kernel. While Linux 7.1 isn't exciting at all for AMD RDNA4 performance (https://www.phoronix.com/news/Linux-7.1-Mesa-26.1-RX-9070-GRE), an unexpected surprise in my recent benchmarking was finding that the Intel Arc B580 is enjoying some nice and fairly widespread performance improvements atop the Linux 7.1 kernel. Tests comparing different Intel open-source graphics driver stack configurations with the Intel Arc B580 are showing some healthy performance gains by simply upgrading to Linux 7.1.
