Why Login Security Sucks
Why is it so hard to make a moderately secure login?
In terms of communication, the solutions we hear about the most, i.e. with the most marketing, allow for the insertion of SaaS services into the chain so that an operation that was previously free now pays a monthly fee based on usage. This creates a lopsided set of incentives where only the most technologically complex and extremely secure solutions are endorsed and when teams are (understandably) overwhelmed by their requirements a SaaS attempts to get inserted into a critical junction of their product. Keep in mind all I am trying to do is build a simple login route on an application that is portable, somewhat future proof and doesn't require a ton of personal data from the user to resolve common human error problems.
