WiFi Time
Here I'll describe an abandoned project to build a "fake" GPS module that grabs the time over WiFi, to function as a drop-in replacement for the GPS breakout boards used on earlier versions of my Precision Clock. My mistake was being too ambitious, the almost impossible goal of getting sub-millisecond accuracy, over WiFi, using regular NTP at slow polling intervals, and with only the built-in oscillator of an ESP8266.
