Packages, receipts, itineraries of past trips, messages from loved ones, photos, appointments, documents — you can just label them, archive them, and search for them later. And while new, iterative features to Gmail may not be as fun to imagine as a future where rockets go to Mars and flashy AI gadgets replace your smartphone, they do offer a commitment to the technology that has been central to our lives on the internet for decades.
