92 Million Jobs Gone: Who Will AI Erase First?


AI will displace 92 million jobs by 2030—but not equally. Black, Latino, and low-wage workers face the greatest risk if equity isn’t embedded in AI’s rise.

Although AI has great potential, and the ability to close societal disparities, left unchecked, it may further exacerbate racial and economic inequalities in the workforce. For example, a lack of representation on a tech team could result in overlooking that a facial recognition system has a higher error rate for darker skin tones. Some of these strategies can include developing apprenticeship programs, building community partnerships, and sponsoring job fairs for individuals from historically marginalized groups.
