Chatbot tries to change subject after serving up unrelated user’s mobile to man asking for rail firm helpline

Referring to Smethurst’s case, Mike Stanhope, the managing director of the law firm Carruthers and Jackson, said: “This is a fascinating example of AI gone wrong. “Meta AI is trained on a combination of licensed and publicly available datasets, not on the phone numbers people use to register for WhatsApp or their private conversations,” a spokesperson said.
