A Dictionary of the Language of Myst's D'ni
The purpose of this webpage is to provide a list of all of the words of the Language of Dni that have been published by Cyan, together with citation of the actual source of each item and some indication of the context. As a glance at the list of Sources Cited so far will show, information about the language has been revealed in diverse ways, ranging from inscriptions on artifacts and writings depicted in the Myst games, to reported speech in the novels, to terminology of the Dni culture described on Cyans own websites.

Words that (if read according to the published values used in other texts) would appear quite unfamiliar, such as nirkhchivon,yiv cheh, ch gehschoy, b fisí, or g aehv i shehn, become sensible when the proposed substitutions (indicated in red on the chart) are made. This would mean that some of the letters were still incorrectly understood in documents found during the restoration efforts, with the implication that Atruss Prayer was preserved in some other form perhaps a transcription into the Latin alphabet in one of his journals and was rendered into what the DRC thought was correct Dni at that time.
