A Local-First Case Study


How I built a local-first app for planning trips, and what I learned about the current state of the local-first ecosystem along the way.

In fact, Embark is even more ambitious — pulling in data like weather forecasts, embedding arbitrary views like calendars and introducing a new formula language for live calculations. In short, I wanted an app where I could jot down loose notes about places I was interested in visiting, visualize different routes and gradually narrow it all down into an actual itinerary.
