A Taxonomy of Bugs
A list of common types of bugs.
Instead of an inscrutable black box that reacts in completely incomprehensible ways to perfectly sensible input, you now see an army of ignorant users calling your functions in the wrong order with a combination of parameters that make no sense at all. It will make your support easier and usually, the risks are low (even when there are big public source code leaks it doesn’t seem to adversely affect the companies much). If you are unable to get the reproduction rate high enough that you can debug the issue on your local machine, a second tactic is to try to collect as much information as possible when the bug does occur.
