Adobe’s chief strategy officer Scott Belsky announced this week that he will be joining A24, the independent movie studio behind “Civil War,” “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” and many more titles. A24, meanwhile, was founded in 2012 and quickly attracted a devoted following for “elevated” horror films like “Hereditary,” while releasing critically acclaimed movies in a variety of genres and even winning two Best Picture Oscars for “Everything Everywhere All At Once” and “Moonlight.” However, the studio may not be satisfied with indie-scale hits — it’s been signaling bigger commercial ambitions by raising big funding rounds at a reported $3.25 billion valuation.
