AI startup argues scraping every song on the internet is 'fair use'

Udio and Suno were sued in June, with major labels claiming they trained AI models by scraping copyrighted music from the Internet. In a court filing today, Suno acknowledged doing just that.

"It is fair use under copyright law to make a copy of a protected work as part of a back-end technological process, invisible to the public, in the service of creating an ultimately non-infringing new product," the statement reads. Google is adding support for its School time parental control feature to more hardware, including select Android smartphones. The biggest news stories this morning: Etsy just announced a loyalty program that’s (sort of) similar to Amazon Prime, Ayaneo’s take on the Game Boy Micro is available to order starting at $190, Reddit CEO wants Microsoft to pay for its content.
