AI will consume all of IT by 2030—but not all IT jobs, Gartner says


AI still threatens entry-level IT jobs.

VP analysts Alicia Mullery and Daryl Plummer delivered the sentiment at their keynote address at Gartner’s IT Symposium in Gold Coast, Australia, as reported by The Register. Today, many organizations already use AI to complete tasks that humans had historically performed in other industries, including recruiting, journalism, customer service, and even social media influencing. According to data from labor research firm Revelio Labs, “highly AI exposed entry-level jobs have declined by over 40 percent” from January 2023 to July 2025.
