Alameda County's Community Land Trust Unveils 2024 Micro-Grant Program

Micro-Grant Program Launch by Alameda County Community Land Trust: Fostering Local Empowerment

The grants aim to cover costs related to deferred maintenance and enhance the living conditions for low-income residents with severe mental health issues. Founded in 2021 with support from the Alameda County Healthcare Services Agency, SHCLA strives to prevent the closure of licensed residential facilities, establish new ones, and promote a family homeownership model for parents of adult children with severe mental health issues. Teslim Ikharo, the first employee and founding executive director of SHCLA, is an urban strategist and community convenor focused on integrating art and design into projects.
