Albania considers creating ministry run entirely by AI to fight corruption

According to reports, at a press conference in July, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that AI could become the most effective element of the government and a tool for fighting corruption and increasing transparency. According to the outlet, AI is already being used in Albania to monitor public procurement, which is an EU requirement, as well as to analyze tax and customs operations in real time and detect violations. In addition, AI is used to monitor the country's territory with drones and satellites — in particular, to detect illegal constructions, unauthorized beach developments, or cannabis plantations.
