M4 Macs are coming.
Tomorrow’s iPhone 16 launch won’t be the final Apple event of the year, as the company plans to debut some M4 Macs and new iPads with another showing in October, according to Bloomberg ’s Mark Gurman in today’s Power On newsletter. That means both machines will still be on Apple’s M2 generation this year, unlike all other Macs except the MacBook Air, Bloomberg ’s Mark Gurman wrote to Power On subscribers today. Apple will reportedly emphasize the M4’s AI-processing capabilities once released, which likely comes in response to the slew of rival “AI PCs” hitting the market and a slowdown in Mac sales.
