Amazon To Cut 14,000 Jobs In Mega Cost-Saving Drive: Report
Amazon is planning to cut 14,000 managerial positions by early 2025 as part of its efforts to cut costs and improve efficiency, according to a report.
The company has already discontinued certain initiatives, such as its ‘Try Before You Buy' clothing programme and a rapid brick-and-mortar delivery service, as it shifts focus to its core business areas. Jassy plans to raise the ratio of individual contributors to managers by at least 15% by 2025, aiming to cut bureaucracy and accelerate operations, Business Insider reported. Reducing the number of managers would eliminate unnecessary layers, allowing Amazon to operate more efficiently and with fewer bureaucratic obstacles, he added.
