AMC Entertainment Plans To “Go On Offense” With Major Upgrades To Movie Theaters Amid Box Office Recovery

Top movie theater owner AMC Entertainment unveiled a "go-on-offense" plan to upgrade seating, projection and auditoriums in the coming years.

Top movie theater owner AMC Entertainment unveiled what it calls its “GO Plan” — short for “go on offense” — a set of major improvements to seating, projection and auditoriums during the next few years. CEO Adam Aron laid out details of the initiative during a quarterly conference call with investors and analysts, adding that a press release Thursday would aim to fill in a few blanks. In addition to benefits from the post-Covid box office recovery, Aron noted that some key debt repayments have been pushed farther out into the future, enabling the company to allocate resources in the near- to medium-term to its core theater assets.
