AMD Announces New Ryzen AI Z2 SoCs For Gaming Handhelds


AMD in cooperation with ASUS and Microsoft used the Xbox Games Showcase for announcing their new Ryzen AI Z2 series processors for gaming handhelds

The Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme is quite interesting in being Zen 2 based and packing 8 cores / 16 threads with RDNA 3.5 graphics. The initial ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X are shipping with Windows and heavily catered to the Microsoft gaming experience but will likely work fine under Linux besides potentially some new ASUS platform driver additions.About The AuthorMichael Larabel is the principal author of Phoronix.com and founded the site in 2004 with a focus on enriching the Linux hardware experience.
