An analyst who claimed Final Fantasy 16 had sold 3.5 million copies has apologised, insisting the figure was an estimate and not confirmed sales. Toyo Securities analyst Hideki Yasuda has since revised the firm's report to emphasise the figure derived from its own estimates and was not informed by Square Enix's own numbers. Square Enix shared the announcement on social media, along with the news the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series alone has sold over 5m copies worldwide.
