Thunderbolt 5 is fully compatible with USB4, and supports advanced protocols such as PCIe 4.0, allowing faster data access speeds for storage devices and peripherals. "MacBook Pro is an incredibly powerful tool that millions of people use to do their life's best work, and today we're making it even better,” said John Ternus, Apple's senior vice president of Hardware Engineering. Apple today announced that it has updated the 24-inch iMac with the M4 chip, which debuted in the iPad Pro earlier this year.
