A consumer alleging Apple Inc.‘s iOS 13 used excessive cellular data without permission failed to convince a federal judge to certify a class of users of the operating system on iPhones.

A consumer alleging Apple Inc.‘s iOS 13 used excessive cellular data without permission failed to convince a federal judge to certify a class of users of the operating system on iPhones. Plaintiff Alasdair Turner alleged the operating system contained malfunctioning code that ignored user’s toggles limiting cellular data for specific apps. Turner's claims only covered some versions of Apple's iOS 13 and activities far in the past, the judge said.
