Apple's former hardware engineering chief Dan Riccio is "nearing retirement" after more than 25 years at the company, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. John Ternus took over as Apple's Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering in 2021, with Riccio remaining at the company to work on a "special project" that was reportedly the Vision Pro headset. Apple today introduced a new beta firmware update for the AirPods Pro 2, both the USB-C and Lightning versions.
