Apple in 2023: The Six Colors report card
It’s time for our annual look back on Apple’s performance during the past year, as seen through the eyes of writers, editors, developers, podcasters, and other people who spend an awful lot of time…
Embracing widgets and rethinking watchOS’ structure and app UIs was the right call, but I still feel like Apple is missing a big opportunity by not allowing users to design their own custom watch faces that go beyond the limitations of the system’s built-in ones. A big part of that is down to the devices you plug into it, and I changed every lightbulb in my house to Philips Hue late in the year because the Nanoleaf bulbs were just too unreliable, but the Home app’s automations and dashboard are much more consistent and reliable than ever before.
