Apple reportedly phasing out option to purchase multi-year plans of AppleCare+


According to a tweet from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will stop offering the option to purchase a 2-3 year plan...

This change primarily impacts users trying to purchase devices in Apple retail stores, who’ll no longer have the option to purchase an AppleCare plan up front, instead they’ll have to stick to a monthly or annual subscription. In the case of the 14-inch MacBook Pro, you can purchase 3 years of AppleCare up-front for $279, vs the $99.99/year rate with the subscription. He’s also an indie iOS developer in his free time, and has published numerous apps over the years.
