In this weekend’s Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman wrote that “the MacBook Pro probably won’t get another true overhaul until 2026.” According to Gurman, Apple was previously targeting 2025 for the next MacBook Pro overhaul, but there were delays related to the display technology. Apple is widely expected to transition to OLED on the next major MacBook Pro refresh, borrowing from the new M4 iPad Pros. Gurman also mentions that the M6 chip will likely be built on the new 2nm process, bringing new display technology, a new design, and a big performance boost, all in one refresh.
