Apple research tackles the English accent of AI

Apple has co-authored a study proposing a new method that could make large language models (LLMs)better for non-English users.

To close the gap, Apple trained a model to prefer natural-sounding outputs over awkward ones, using a pretty clever method: instead of manually collecting unnatural examples, they generated them automatically using back-translation. He began covering Apple news in Brazilian media in 2012 and later broadened his focus to the wider tech industry, hosting a daily podcast for seven years.
