Apple Revokes EU Distribution Rights for an App on the Alt Store
Apple has inexplicably revoked the EU distribution rights for the iTorrent app, and left its developer in the dark without answers.
This breakthrough was a direct result of the EU’s Digital Markets Act ( DMA) that went into effect last year, requiring Apple to allow apps to be installed through third-party stores. Rights revoked Given Apple’s long history of banning torrent apps from its own store, it’s tempting to conclude that the company stepped in for the same reason here. Speaking directly with TorrentFreak, iTorrent developer Daniil Vinogradov (XITRIX) says that Apple did not reach out to him regarding the revocation of his alternative EU distribution rights.
