Apple’s Eddy Cue: ‘You may not need an iPhone 10 years from now’

Apple considers how it might ditch another “golden goose.”

Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of services, gave an ominous warning today that the iPhone could go the way of the iPod 10 years from now. Cue’s remarks came during the Google Search antitrust remedies trial today while discussing how AI has the potential to reshape the tech industry and open the door to new entrants. Apple is rumored to be working on its own similar solutions that would see users interacting with AI through auxiliary devices like smartwatches, future AirPods, and yes, smart glasses.
