Apple’s new Maps will learn your commute in iOS 26

Apple is updating Maps in iOS 26 to remember your commute, and proactively offer helpful suggestions about traffic delays.

The company said your iPhone will now learn your preferred commute, and the routes you often take to go home, to work, or to pick your kids up from school. The company said users can easily delete visited places with a swipe, and the information is protected with end-to-end encryption. Previously with Gizmodo, Bloomberg, and MSNBC, Zeff has covered the rise of AI and the Silicon Valley Bank crisis.
