A message posted by the Assassin's Creed Shadows development team has thanked fans of the franchise for "the sheer amount of love and positivity" received since the game's long-awaited launch last week, which, the team said, had been "incredibly heartwarming". The entire Dev Team has been reading your posts - the celebrations, the feedback, the theories - and it's been inspiring. "Majestic in scope, impressive in detail, Ubisoft's epic adventure honours the beauty of feudal Japan, even if its strongest moments are saved for the personal stories of its two protagonists," I wrote in Eurogamer's Assassin's Creed Shadows review.
