Asus’ latest gaming phone is thinner, lighter, and sprinkled with AI

Say hello to the ROG Phone 8, 8 Pro, and 8 Pro Edition.

Asus claims its approach is 20 percent more thermally efficient this time around, but if you’re after yet more cooling, the company also has a new version of its AeroActive Cooler that you can strap onto the back of the phone to reduce its back cover temperature by up to a claimed 26 degrees Celsius (79 degrees Fahrenheit). “AI Grabber” is a feature that’s designed to make it easier to search online for gaming walkthroughs by recognizing and copying in-game text. Around front, there’s a 6.78-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, a peak brightness of 2,500 nits, and a hole-punch notch containing a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
