AT&T Launches Account Lock to Combat SIM Swapping Scams

AT&T today said that customers can activate Wireless Account Lock, a new feature that will prevent unauthorized changes to a wireless account....

With SIM swapping, an attacker calls the carrier's support staff, pretends to be the smartphone user, and asks for a number transfer. The feature is currently offered by select automakers, including Audi, BMW, Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, and a handful of others, and it is set to expand further. The machine is expected to feature a 13-inch display, the A18 Pro chip, and color options that include silver, blue, pink, and yellow.
