Beats Solo 4 review: New sound. Who dis?
It's "clear" what Beats is after!
However, after some time to “reset,” I realized something: in the wake of a surge in the popularity of Hi-Res Audio offerings, what Beats gives you in this latest generation of Solo headphones is a palette cleanser, free from high-fructose bass enhancements. Beats Solo 4’s dynamic range and clarity are good enough that I could clearly hear the whispers in Jim Morrison’s backing vocals on the track, an element of that mix I’d forgotten about. Playing through the DACs, the 808 in The Roots’ “Illadelph Halflife” track “Push Up Ya Lighter’s” has serious resonance, with the rest of the elements sounding airy, with crisp vocals and tight sonics.
