Blizzard has revealed it won't be hosting its annual BlizzCon fan convention in 2024, but says the long-running event - first seen in 2005 - may return "in future years". While Blizzard offered no explanation for this year's cancellation, it did note that it'll still be active in 2024, with announcements for World of Warcraft: The War Within and Diablo 4's first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, due "over the next few months". "Our hope," the publisher concludes, "is that these experiences – alongside several live-streamed industry events where we'll keep you up to date with what’s happening in our game universes – will capture the essence of what makes the Blizzard community so special."
