Boeing to lay off 17,000 employees to 'stay competitive'


Boeing President and CEO Kelly Ortberg has announced that the company is reducing its workforce by 10 percent.

Ortberg announced the upcoming layoffs in the midst of a machinist strike that had shut down production in most of Boeing's plants, including the ones manufacturing its best-selling plane, the 737 Max. In a complaint filed Thursday, the National Labor Relations Board accused Apple of infringing on its employees’ rights to advocate for better working conditions. The biggest news stories this morning: Tesla’s robotaxi, the Cybercab, Intel’s 15th-gen CPUs are all about power efficiency and thermals, Nintendo is looking for 10,000 testers for a new Switch Online feature.
