Canada follows the US by slapping a 100 percent tariff on Chinese EVs


Canada is following the US by imposing a 100 percent tariff on imports of Chinese-made EVs.

"Because of our government's choices and the hard work of hundreds of thousands of Canadian auto workers, we are transforming Canada's automotive sector to be a global leader in building the vehicles of tomorrow," Trudeau said at a press conference. Pavel Durov, the CEO of Telegram, was arrested at an airport near Paris on Saturday, reportedly as part of a preliminary investigation into the app’s lax approach to moderation and failure to curb possible criminal activities.
