Capcom backtracks quickly and removes DRM after players rebel

Japanese gaming giant Capcom has backtracked, at least for now, and removed problem-causing DRM from some of it's back-catalog of games.

With no mention of what the issue was or timeline as to when the update will be re-released, presumably without Enigma DRM, unless it can be fixed this is a tail between the legs moment for Capcom, who notoriously dislike the modding community and believe that the PC is a haven for rampant piracy. Having spent time as Head of Communications at a professional sports club and working for high-profile charities such as the National Literacy Trust, he returned as Managing Editor in charge of large US-based technology websites in 2020. Believing that the reader deserves actually to enjoy what they are reading is a big part of Paul’s ethos when it comes to gaming journalism, elevating the sites he works on above the norm.
