Longtime Slashdot reader sinij shares a report from Car and Driver with the comment: "Lack of visibility is a significant consequence of improving safety on the front overlap crash testing." [...] For the study, researchers with the U.S. Department of Transportation's Volpe Center used the IIHS method to examine every generation of some popular vehicles sold between 1997 and 2023. While this is not conclusive evidence across the industry, the results from these representative vehicles suggest an overall decline in outward frontal visibility.
