Celebrating 20 Years of MDN

MDN turns 20! Let's look at how we started, how MDN became the most trusted resource for web developers, the impact it's had on the open web, and yes, there's cake, too.

As the web platform matured and grew, so did the vast amount of knowledge captured on MDN and the community of people who read and contribute to it. Today, there's nearly 14,000 pages of documentation, more than 33,000 localized articles, and compatibility data on close to 18,000 features that make MDN the most trusted and comprehensive resource available for web developers. A good cake matters a lot to keep a spirit of collaboration alive between teams who compete at times, but ultimately build towards one open web that everybody can enjoy.
