The company says it’s identified a pathway to recovery and is working on a fix as of 4:55pm PT Wednesday evening, but the service is still down as of the time of writing. CEO Sam Altman said the startup didn’t anticipate the amount of interest it would receive, and had to limit the number of users that could sign up. Many users who did sign up were unable to generate videos on launch day, receiving a message that OpenAI’s servers were at capacity.
