China flooding social media with disinformation about Taiwan president

The content includes false information about Tsai such as unsubstantiated claims of academic credential forgery, same-sex marriage, family problems, promiscuity, and failures in epidemic prevention. Therefore, China's efforts to denigrate Tsai personally and tarnish the image of the president, along with criticizing her governance, are meant to undermine the ruling party as part of its election interference scheme. Austin H. Wang (王伟恩), an assistant professor at the Department of Political Science, University of Nevada Las Vegas, wrote on X that he had spotted more than 100 YouTube videos "attacking" Tsai recently.
