Chinese companies have imported a record $26 billion in semiconductor-related machinery, with companies ramping up prices in case it gets worse.

Chinese companies have imported around $26 billion worth of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, according to new trade data released by China's General Administration of Customs this week. ASML is the sole supplier of most of the advanced lithography equipment to make the most bleeding-edge chips on the planet, with China's Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. has been using older-generation ASML lithography machines, hitting a technological breakthrough last year, reports Bloomberg News. His addiction to GPU tech is unwavering and has recently taken a keen interest in artificial intelligence (AI) hardware.
