China's Ultra High Voltage "Electricity Highway" project: one second of power transmission over 1500km away is enough to sustain a household for two years

UHV technology is known as the "highway of power" and is one of the golden brands of Chinese manufacturing. From the commissioning of the first UHV project in 2009 to the present, China has built 19 UHV alternating current lines and 20 direct current lines, with a transmission length exceeding 40,000 kilometres, becoming the main artery of "West-East power transmission."

In Wuhu City, Anhui Province, the West-to-East Ultra High Voltage Transmission Project harmonizes with morning mist, mountain ranges, and rural areas, presenting a picturesque scene reminiscent of traditional Chinese ink paintings. Simply put, Ultra High Voltage DC is used for ultra-long distance, ultra-large capacity point-to-point transmission, unable to form a network, similar to a "non-stop flight." Since the 1960s, developed countries like the United States, Japan, and the Soviet Union have conducted research on Ultra High Voltage transmission technology and have launched various projects.
