THE COMPANY College Pulse is the leading research and analytics company focused on today’s college students. Our mission is to be the voice of college students by providing accurate data and insight into what students are thinking so that companies, universities, and the public can better serve this important, yet overlooked demographic. In the past five years, we have built the largest database of college student opinion with over 800K student panelists from over 1500 universities in all 50 states. The data we collect powers a suite of research offerings trusted by Fortune 500 corporations, universities, foundations, media outlets, and policymakers. We are a remote-first company backed by top-tier investors, including Norwest Venture Partners, Madrona Ventures, GSV Accelerate, Y-Combinator, and Paul Graham. We’re seeking a Research Analyst to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for survey research, data analysis, and client interaction. You’ll work on a range of projects, from questionnaire development to data analysis and reporting, all while supporting key client engagements. Key Responsibilities: Questionnaire Development: Write and refine survey questionnaires to meet project goals. Survey Testing: Test programmed surveys for logic and data quality. Data Quality Assurance: Review open-ended responses and demographic data for accuracy. Data Analysis: Analyze cross-tabs and data sets to identify key insights. Reporting: Prepare and deliver insightful research reports. Project Management: Provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders. Marketing & Social Media: Support marketing efforts and manage social media outreach. Business Development: Assist the business development team by providing materials and joining sales calls to take notes. Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sociology, psychology, economics, or a related field. A background in survey research, social sciences, or statistics is preferred. Experience: 1-2 years in a research or data-driven environment, ideally in market research, survey research, or the social sciences. Client-facing experience is a plus. Skills: Proficiency with Qualtrics, or any ability to learn quickly. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize. Basic data analysis skills; familiarity with tools like Excel, SPSS, or Tableau is a plus. Proficiency with R is strongly preferred. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
