Commodore 64 Fitness Watch (2022)
Keep tabs on your fitness with this C64-themed smartwatch that wirelessly syncs data to your Commodore 64 computer. By Nick Bild.
How It WorksI previously built the C64 Watch, which is a Commodore 64-themed Lilygo T-Watch 2020 with an onboard BASIC interpreter. A common feature of modern smartwatches is their ability to track fitness-related metrics, so I used the C64 Watch's accelerometer as a step counter to demonstrate my wireless syncing method. On the C64, the assembly program wpal3.prg loads the graphics for the C64 Watch Pal application into the appropriate memory locations, then calls sync.prg to set up the raster interrupts to split the screen between bitmap and text modes.
